Ana Naqe, Soprano
The Albanian-Belgian soprano is at home at some of the most renowned stages, such as the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Teatro Solis in Montevideo, the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and Ghent, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège and the Bregenzer Festspiele Festival.
In addition to numerous appearances on international opera stages, she performed a number of concerts as a passionate lieder singer (Concert Hall Amsterdam, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu in France).
For the 2023/2024 season she is a member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Coburg, where she will debut, among other things, in the role of Lady Macbeth (Verdi) under the musical direction of Daniel Carter and stage director Neil Barry Moss.
Her future engagements include her debut as Madama Butterfly (Puccini) at Opera Vlaanderen in Antwerp and Ghent in Belgium in September 2024.
She began her varied education by studying violin (University of Tirana) and singing at the Royal Conservatory of Amsterdam, which she continued at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Granada. She also earned a master's degree in violin and singing from the Conservatoire Supérieur Royal of Brussels, Belgium.
One of the highlights of her career was the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor (Michael De Cock), under the musical direction of Ouri Bronchti, with whom she went on tour in Belgium, Spain, France and Amsterdam in 2023.
Ana Naqe appeared as Dulcinea/Aldonza in L'Homme de la Mancha (Wasserman, Leigh, Darion) between 2018 and 2021 (revived at the Théâtre du Châtelet).
The soprano received critical acclaim for her interpretation of Klara Friis, the lead role in the opera We the Drowned at the Oerol Festival in the Netherlands and the Marstal Festival in Denmark.
In summer 2022 she stepped in for the leading role Stephana in Giordano's Siberia at the Bregenzer Festspiele Festival.
In the summer of 2023, she performed as Medea (Cherubini) and Elettra (Mozart's Idomeneo) at the Opera Kameralna Warsaw Tribute to Maria Callas gala as part of the 32nd Mozart Festival.
On the stage in Coburg, Ana Naqe will be seen alongside Lady Macbeth as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow) and Gutrune in (Götterdämmerung).
