Getting Started with Interviews

21 September 2020

This past week in ISM, I completed my third research assessment over the emerging technologies in cybersecurity. This included machine learning, artificial intelligence, adaptive networks, and quantum computing. Through this article, I learned more about how technologies operate in a business setting and specifically for cybersecurity teams. I also got a little inspiration for my original work with possibly researching and learning how to create my own threat detection system. However, this idea has not been fully finalized yet and I am working on coming up with more feasible ideas.

I also started reaching out to professionals and I have scheduled two interviews so far. I had my first interview today and it went well. I learned a lot of how to detect cyber threats and how they differ for insider versus outsider threats. I also learned about random ware and I am working on scheduling two more interviews and am awaiting responses from some professionals. I am excited to begin conducting research interviews and learning more from these professionals.

This past week I also worked on developing my communication, professionalism, and organizational skills especially with scheduling research interviews. I also expanded my overall knowledge of cybersecurity and I am excited to continue to learn more about this field in the next coming weeks.
