“The secret of getting ahead is getting started” - Mark Twain

This past week in ISM, I worked on my second research assessment and I learned about how the Internet of Things(IoT) impacts cybersecurity. The article discussed the need for intelligent systems and changing the level of human - response when it comes to handling cyber attacks. The article was very interesting, as it builds off of my previous research on cyber resilience and the topic is something I touched on for my interview questions.

Regarding interviews, I am in the process of scheduling my first interview with a professional either the end of this week or next week. I have also started reaching out to more professionals on Linkedin and am working on getting requests and scheduling for interviews. Through these interviews, I hope to learn more about their role in cybersecurity and the different career pathways in cybersecurity that I can specialize in.

This past week, I learned more about communicating the research I read and analyzing, asking questions, and commenting on my research assessments. This piece of information really helped me, as instead of summarizing what I learned, I focused more on thinking critically about what I was learning. I also implemented key skills such as communication, professionalism, and interest.
