Mama Danger is a folk-based string ensemble based out of Asheville, NC. The multi- instrumental duo, comprised of Nick Cameron and Gabriela Rose, explores musical landscapes ranging from traditional, religious, to their own modern contemporary works. Their music has been compared to that of Punch Brothers and Mandolin Orange.
The group was formed in 2017 after they met on a choir trip to The White House while studying at UNC Asheville. Nick’s background in theatre as well as his classical training as an *award-winning vocalist proved to be a perfect match with Gabriela’s extensive musical background and passion for songwriting. The duo quickly hit a spark and released their first EP the following year in 2018.
Mama Danger is passionate not only about sharing their music, but also giving back and speaking out. Both hail from Jewish backgrounds, which has given them a deep appreciation for their folk heritage. Nick and Gabriela desire to be a voice for marginalized people of the modern world through the music they share and create.
