Leaves are changing. Fires are burning. Pumpkins are riding tracker backs and ghosts are practicing their boos…. I’m Searching for words today… looking under stones and in dark corners for something, anything to explain the day. I did find this::
“Mizzy! Now! Go! Stake your claim! Hold out your hands. Move, get ready, give thanks. Imagine, and let go. Act, and have faith. Persist. Do what you can, when you can, all you can. Because never again, not in a million years, not over ten thousand lifetimes, will you ever again be as close as you are today. ”
As you know, Autumn is breathing down our neck… turkeys aren’t real happy but I guess life is all about perspective. In all my time west bound, I’ve never experienced heat in Los Angeles like the current heat wave that blanketed the western pacific over this holiday weekend. Brutal heat. But I met the fog on Monday and actually had chilly toes in the sand, which was quite the enjoyable experience. The next few weeks will be spent cleaning and prepping camera gear for several weeks of shooting in various locations. Generally, I make a few trips to the sierras and spend a week in Colorado… or at least that’s how things have been playing out lately. The recent fires might come into play this year regarding travel plans but we shall see. I guess my advice today, not that I’m a grand master of advice, but sometimes anything will help… “Go” “Go” “Go”, now that might mean something different to you or to you or to you… but the premise is the same. I have a note on my wall… a note that’s been on my wall for many many years… it says, “Go mizzy, go where you are drawn”, that’s the short version of the message. It’s a message about following your passions and that little impulse that happens in your gut, that spark, that excitement of a thrill. Autumn is a “Go” time for me. So… for you… maybe today… just think about that word “Go” and ponder what it means to you, then…. GO!
