Adams Ricci Park Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden was created by Cumberland County Master Gardeners, Penn State Extension, and East Pennsboro Recreation. CCWA sponsored $1,000 grant to help create this beautiful garden. Check out the video about butterflies and plants and why they are so important to our ecosystem

Recreation on the Conodoguinet Creek

The Conodoguinet Creek Water Trail (CCWT) is approximately 40 miles long and meanders through agricultural fields, suburban areas, and small towns. You can enjoy a leisurely float, fish, or bird watch on this Class 1 stream. Class 1 waters are easy-flowing with few waves or riffles and suitable for a beginning paddler. Watch the video that features our beautiful Creek

Riparian Buffer Planting

CCWA Partners with the Chesapeake Bay Program's Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership and Silver Spring Township to plant a Riparian Buffer at the DiFilippo Nature Preserve. Check out the video about CCWA plantings

These buffers are important in removing Nitrogen and Phosphorus that is trapped in runoff that flows into our waterways. Roots from trees and grasses will extract nutrients that are trapped in the soil and live roots help to hold soil in place preventing erosion from taking soil into the creek

Thank YOU to all of our great volunteers that make these plantings possible
