We're just gonna come right out and say it. It's bullshit that Ye and Jay can't come to some sort of agreement on Watch The Throne II.
So for the culture we here at Mono Creek Sound brainstormed a few idea son what would do real justice in Hip Hop for an truly epic collab.
We don't think the culture is ready for a Nas & Jay Z full album. Specifically because it appears many of our new generation really are lacking the respect and appreciation of such an enormous magnitude of a collaboration that even is in thought. Just the concept alone is bigger than big. However some would argue it's not even necessary.
But for the sake of the beautiful world wide affect WTT had on the entire Earth at the time of it's release and tour. And the real chance it may never happen with Ye & Jay again? We think Nas & Jay would make an epic Collab even for an EP.
However some of you feeble minded folks wouldnt be able to apprecite it enough, now having the attention span of a gold fish in this generation, allegedly. That factor alone may delay that from ever becoming a reality.
It's like the idea of since the Fugees will never do an album again.... who could be see partner up with Lauryn Hill. Cause let's face it that's who it's about. Just sayin' she was the secret sauce, the Colonel's secret that rare meteor shower that leaves the earth with minerals for centuries upon centuries.
Nas has that unrivalled story tellin' King-like flow. That descriptive sonic-view. A particular way with his words, cadence and his chosen subject matter. Providing it to us, in a way that only he can deliver.
Jay Z has pure unadulterated finesse. The man is rap gift from the Gods. We almost rapped there. Not a wrapped gift but a Rap Gift. Anyways back to our very important point. Jay Z brings authoritative charm. He literally has an aura that brings a track up a high notch that many only dream of reaching on a song, let alone an entire career.
So if Nas and Jay Z were to ever make a dual album, it would have to be exercised at the most pristine precise time in Hip Hop. If either of you are reading this it would do you both good to virtually and seemingly completely disappear from Hip Hop and Rap for at least 3 years.
When we say disappear we mean never showing up to any event at all and staying completely out of music and any type of news for that entire period of time.
Then out of the sheer blue and unsuspectingness of the perhaps feeble minded public and even us the music blog Gods, then pop up with the single off the album that blows everyone's mind out of the water.
Make it literally a movement. Like the 1990's Chicago Bulls Championship Winning Team. Undeniable. Captivating on the court and even off it. That impactful. That everyone feels like they're winning. Because the culture is winning.
