making progress

I am glad that I am finally making some progress. I made a cold call to Mr. Lowe last week and was able to interview him on Thursday morning. I thought that I was not going to be able to interview an architect, but I discovered that I had to suck it up and be brave enough to call a professional. In the end.

In the end, I learned a lot in my interview with Mr. Lowe. I learned about his career in architecture, which was very interesting since he at first entered college wanting to be a zoologist, but he later found out that he had a passion for architecture. He also helped me become more knowledgeable in the skills necessary to become an architect. He explained to me how architects need to be detailed-oriented, creative, and learn to accept constructive criticism, which were some skills I was already aware of; however, he went into more depth on how to gain these skills.

Other than making progress in my ability to connect with architects, I figured out what I wanted to do for my original work. I decided to design a hospital that assists patients with recovery. I want to focus on the exterior of the hospital as well as commercial and landscape architecture. I believe that by implementing a walking area around the exterior of a hospital and incorporating large amounts of greenery and green space, patients will be able to recover better and grow healthier since exposure to the outside and nature can improve one's health.
