SKETCHING TIME!

I am a bit behind in my original work. I was supposed to finish a sketch of my design for the hospital last week but was not able to. So, for this week I plan to work mainly on my design for the hospital. I have to start drafting and drawing rough sketches and then I plan to do one final sketch. Hopefully, from there I will be able to detail and start making a larger draft of the sketch. When it comes to sketching my design, I will have to draw multiple angles of the building, which will take a while.

This week I will break it down by doing a rough sketch of the front of my design (one-point perspective) and then move to do the side of the hospital (two-point perspective). Right now, I am having trouble coming up with ideas for my design, but I plan to take the basic shape and formulate it for a functional hospital. I, at first, wanted to make the hospital into a ring shape, but after reading the article about hospital architecture, I decided that I should come up with another idea as my original might be functional and efficient.

Besides being a bit behind in my goal, I found a mentor! Mr. Zapata accepted my request to allow me to shadow him despite the difficult COVID policies at the firm he works at, and for that, I am truly grateful since he is giving me this privilege to mentor him in such conditions. I am excited to learn more about the field of architecture through him and can not wait to experience new things as my ISM journey continues.
