SNOWED IN PART 2... OR ICED IN

Well, where to begin…last week was a mess. The showcase was pushed back to this week since it would not be safe for people to drive on the roads.I was disappointed about the showcase being postponed since I was excited to showcase my research, but I am still excited that I have the opportunity to showcase it this week.

Even though the ice storm pushed the schedule back for the ISM Research Showcase, I was able to get many things done last week for my final product. I began my first concept drawing using the pictures I found online as inspiration. I had trouble coming up with the design for the sustainable school, but was able to form some concept or basic form of the building and then from there I added details. Even though I struggled with my first design it was a breakthrough and many ideas began to fill my mind.

I was also able to have a mentor visit with my mentor last week. We discussed a lot, but in relation to my final product, Mr. Zapata helped me by introducing this 3D software that I could play around with and play with the design of the school to find inspiration. He also presented the idea of using legos to play around with the shape of the school since shipping containers have a module shape like legos. I thought these ideas and suggestions were great, and I plan on using them to develop my other two concept designs.
