The power of popular opinion

5.5.20

The recent POC was a debacle with 6 contestants, less than half the length of a typical Thai last name. The inadequate participation demonstrates the power of popular opinion, needless to mention what that opinion is. The only other sane reason I can see, when there was a healthy participation elsewhere at the same time, is that the Google translator failed (laughs). Actually, it did fail given the number of incorrect submissions, despite neatly laid out instructions. It is an eerie coincidence that everytime the translator fails, I am the intended victim. On the retrospective, I think it was unnecessary. Rather than investing my effort on quality puzzles, I now believe I could have enjoyed better participation with unsolvable optimizers with random rules.
