Well...it has definitely been a while and a lot has happened between high school graduation and now. I did a lot of travel, stressed out about orientation (the class registration was brutal), and went to fish camp. Now, I’m in my dorm room blogging. It is crazy how time flies. It felt like, just yesterday, I was starting freshman year at Liberty High School and now I’m somehow on my own at College Station. It is crazy guys! The days leading up to move in day were different. I was experiencing feelings that I normally don’t on a day to day basis. Whenever I went out with my friends (Marall, Prani, and Alex), I got really emotional. I didn’t show it because I hate getting emotional in front of people. My three friends are everything to me. They had to deal with my weirdness for a long time but they accepted me for who I am. Whenever I was going through something, I knew that I could count on them to comfort me. With that said, it felt weird that I wouldn’t be able to see them every day. And of course, how could I forget my family! They have been by my side from day one. Yes...we had our fair share of fights/troubling times but that familial bond is so special. Parting with them was the most difficult. After my mom and dad dropped me off at Texas A&M, I honestly did not know what to do. I was just sitting in my dorm listening to music and tried to grapple with the fact that I am now an adult. It isn’t easy! Later on in the evening, I went out to eat dinner with a friend and called it a day. Am I nervous about college? Yes! Am I excited though? ABSOLUTELY! One of the biggest fears I had coming into college is how am I going to make friends?!?! But, at Texas A&M, that is not an issue. Everyone is so kind to each other no matter what your background is. Oh...and get this…(drum roll please) I met someone that also loves water bears!!!! ISN’T THAT AMAZING ?!?! I can finally prove to everyone that I am not a weirdo for obsessing over those cute little micro animals. College is the time for you to meet a lot of people and I am beginning to do just that. I am so excited to start this new adventure at Texas A&M University. On that note, I am going to make a promise that I can hopefully keep. I am going to try my very best to blog every week about my college experiences.
