“Hard Work Betrays None” - Hachiman Hikigaya

2 December 2019

This past week in ISM, I researched more about specific methods within User-Experience Research, and in learning about more methods I discovered different categories that can help me in determining and creating my design plan. Through this, I researched the importance of focusing on Qualitative dimensions, as well as both Behavioral and Attitudinal dimensions. As a result of my research, I learned that in terms of creating my design plan, I will focus on including qualitative research aspects by focusing on and analyzing participant behavior in relation to a specific task. I can combine this by analyzing a user’s behavior or thought-process in regards to my topic of study through the use of tests such as A/B Testing or Rapid-Iteration Testing. These two testing processes are the ones I am focusing the most on in terms of research and creating my research assessment, as these two options are the most feasible and effective in providing me with a lateral analysis or simply refining and testing one product.

I also created a plan in terms of my research, and so far I have researched different testing, prototyping, and user research methods, however, this week I am planning to focus my last research on actually implementing my product or software into the market and ways that I can make it useful and reliable for different people. I am also currently in the process of creating my design plan and finalizing the topic that I want to study. In order to help me with this process, I researched and analyzed different design portfolios and took notes on the different testing, prototyping, and research methods used, as well as the importance of how they implemented each step in the design process and the software they use to create their prototypes.

Overall, this past week in ISM I focused solely on finalizing my research and I am now focusing on finishing up my assessment and research plan to display all the new information and methods that I have research and how effective this will be for my next semester.
