This past week in ISM I continued to work on my display board and added all of my diagrams, charts, titles, and created my mentor bio. I spent time arranging all the pieces on my board and ensured that everything was printed in a large enough font and added color elements through visuals as well as a blue background for all of my information. In creating my Research Showcase board, I ensured that I was prepared and that my poster and binder were showcase ready, and along with this, I also created a visual to describe my original work. In this section, I am still working on creating a visual for my design plan and also refining my visual for my Original Work, so that the purpose of my paper and the different trends and design methods are very clear to anyone interested.

I had my second mentor visit with my mentor, Lena Quach, this past Saturday. During our mentor visit, she walked me through a deck and a mini crash course of Design Thinking with specific examples that emphasized the importance of having Empathy and using Design Thinking with feasibility, desirability, and viability to meet the needs of a user and a business. She also clarified some of my misunderstandings about a Design System, and I now understand that a Design System entails all the interfaces and parts that a system interacts with and how this is a more holistic approach. Overall, my mentor visit was extremely successful and I gained a lot of useful information, while also gaining feedback on my second-semester final project and idea.

Overall, I learned a lot about continuing to display a strong work ethic and passion for learning throughout my ISM journey and in each task with working on my own project and collaborating with other professionals.
