This past week in ISM I had my second interview with Ms. Lara Becker, a UX Designer at NCR corporation. The interview was extremely successful and I gained a lot of insight into the technical aspect of UX Design as well as User based research. Through the interview, I gained a lot of beneficial sources such as User Testing sites, Usability Labs theta I can visit to test, and ways to conduct my testing and measure results through various ways such as spreadsheets. We also discussed the trends within UX Design, and the importance of conducting tests with clients, stakeholders, and utilizing creative solutions.
Towards the end of this week, I also submitted both my Business Symposium and first Interview Assessment over the recent events that I had. I started my original work by completing some research work, through reading the book A Whole New Mind, that discusses the Design Process and the basics of UX Design. I also have three more interviews scheduled for the next two weeks with various UX Design professionals and I am looking forward to get more information in regards to specific research methods, examples of design projects, and other sources that I can easily look into.
Overall, this week in ISM was indeed successful as I completed my second interview, and on my way to completing my first smart goal with a total of 5 interview completed by the twenty-first of October. I gained extremely valuable skills such as communication, preparation, listening, understanding, and expanding my knowledge within my field, and I hope to continue to develop my skill-set as the year progresses.
