Celebrated in April
Thingyan is a time of joy, a ritual of cleansing, an occasion to celebrate. The smiles on people’s faces gleam as bright as the yellow Padauk flowers.
Here in ISM, students and teachers splash water on each other while exchanging smiles and laughter. The whole celebration is an exchange of water fun signifying cleansing, blessing and a joyous living.
Parents participate in the celebration by preparing delicious traditional snacks for everyone to share. The Thingyan celebration in ISM is usually followed by the well deserved school break.
