A grass roots coalition that emerged from a passionate group of citizens that came together to find solutions to the complaints of loitering in Kenora.
Kenora Moving Forward is a non-legal entity, that mobilizes the power of citizens, social service agencies, and churches to support individuals affected by lack of housing, racism, discrimination, drug use, mental health and poverty in the Kenora region. Along with advocacy and systemic efforts, we put life and breath into our solutions through on the ground places of belonging that we refer to as - CommUNITY Spaces
We have been managing community spaces since January of 2021. Working alongside peer leaders, volunteers and paid staff, we have been able to ensure welcoming places of belonging are accessible in the evening hours when other services are not open. We specialize in low-barrier, accessible, approachable services, and community lead work. We fill the time gap to ensure washroom access, shelter from the elements, access to communication, etc. are available at all times in a dignified way.
